Galerie Oniris at Drawing Now Paris 2025: Celebrating Contemporary Drawing
Galerie Oniris invites you to Paris, to the Carreau du Temple, for the 18th edition of Drawing Now Paris, taking place from March 26 to 30, 2025.
Founded in 2007, Drawing Now Paris is Europe's first contemporary art fair exclusively dedicated to drawing. Every year, it brings together French and international galleries, showcasing the diversity of contemporary drawing practices.
In spring 2025, Galerie Oniris is participating in this major event for the tenth time, demonstrating its longstanding commitment to contemporary art and to the various forms of artistic expression on paper and other media.
For this new edition, Oniris presents a selection featuring two artists: Brankica Žilović and Christian Bonnefoi. Two distinctive artistic approaches exploring the possibilities of drawing, paper, colour, material and composition.
Brankica Žilović: Between Drawing, Textiles and the Exploration of Borders
Featured artist at Drawing Now Paris 2025
Born in Serbia, Brankica Žilović moved to France to pursue her studies at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. This journey between two cultures is an important aspect of her artistic identity and informs a body of work in which personal memory, cultural heritage and the experience of displacement come together.
Her work explores the notions of borders, belonging and identity. Through an experimental approach, the artist develops a distinctive visual language combining traditional and contemporary techniques.
Brankica Žilović's practice extends beyond drawing on paper. She also explores tapestry, concrete, textile materials and various mixed-media techniques. These materials become territories for experimentation, where texture, gesture and colour contribute to the creation of complex and sensitive compositions.
Her works frequently incorporate autobiographical elements, bringing her Serbian roots into dialogue with her experience in France. This cultural duality translates into an artistic exploration of physical and symbolic territories, boundaries and the act of crossing them.
Brankica Žilović's recent works, notably presented in her first solo exhibition at Galerie Oniris, reflect this in-depth exploration of the relationships between material, memory and representation.
Brankica Žilović's Works at Drawing Now Paris
For Drawing Now Paris 2025, Galerie Oniris presents a selection of works on paper and drawings created on a variety of supports, representative of Brankica Žilović's artistic universe.
This presentation offers an opportunity to discover an experimental approach to drawing, in which materials and techniques intersect to push beyond the traditional boundaries of the medium.
Here, drawing becomes a space for research and construction, where notions of territory, memory and displacement take shape.
Christian Bonnefoi: Collage as a Space for Artistic Experimentation
Galerie Oniris is also presenting mural collages by Christian Bonnefoi at Drawing Now Paris 2025. For many years, the artist's work has explored the relationships between painting, drawing, assemblage and composition.
His mural collages, entitled "Ludo", are made from assembled painted tissue paper, inlays and cut-out coloured compositions.
Created especially for the occasion or borrowed from other works, these collages engage in a close dialogue with the artist's paintings. Created alongside his paintings, they constitute a form of artistic experimentation that extends and renews his pictorial research.
Through cutting, collage and the layering of materials, Christian Bonnefoi explores the possibilities of image construction and the relationships between surface, colour and composition.
His "Ludo" works are therefore far more than simple decorative elements: they are an integral part of his artistic practice and reflect his thinking on creative processes.
Two Artists, Two Approaches to Contemporary Drawing
The meeting of Brankica Žilović and Christian Bonnefoi at booth C4 at Drawing Now Paris 2025 brings together two complementary approaches to contemporary artistic creation.
Brankica Žilović explores drawing through a diversity of materials, mixed-media techniques and questions relating to identity and borders. Christian Bonnefoi, meanwhile, develops an artistic practice centred on collage, assemblage and the relationships between painting and composition.
Both practices demonstrate the richness of contemporary drawing, which today extends far beyond the boundaries of paper and traditional mark-making.
This presentation illustrates the diversity of the artistic approaches championed by Galerie Oniris and its interest in experimental practices that renew visual languages.
Drawing Now Paris 2025: Meet Galerie Oniris at the Carreau du Temple
For its 18th edition, Drawing Now Paris once again takes place at the Carreau du Temple, in the heart of the Marais district, from March 26 to 30, 2025.
As Europe's first art fair entirely dedicated to contemporary drawing, this event is a major meeting point for collectors, art professionals and enthusiasts of contemporary art.
Galerie Oniris invites you to discover the works of Brankica Žilović and Christian Bonnefoi at booth C4. The artistic research of these two artists reflects the vitality and diversity of contemporary drawing practices.
