Overview
After his first group presentation in the exhibition Invitation #2 along with Nikolas Fouré and Damien Marchal in 2022, Pierre Galopin is back this autumn for his first solo show at Galerie Oniris.
This exhibition, entitled "OK Cézanne", is based on a detail from a painting by Paul Cézanne, while remaining in the world of Pierre Galopin's work, with its relationship to the painting, its working method and a hint of irony.
On canvas, he plays with chance, using layers of varnish that overlap randomly and partially. Beyond his almost anecdotal research into materials and colors, Pierre Galopin is above all interested in the tool that enables creation. Always abstract, Pierre Galopin's work reveals a vibrant, enigmatic surface.
