from june 14, 2025 to september 14, 2025
This summer, the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes will host a selection of works from the Pinault Collection for an exhibition on the theme of portraiture and the gaze: “Les Yeux dans les yeux”. (Eye-to-eye).
A total of 90 works from the Pinault Collection will be on display throughout the summer in Rennes, including photographs, paintings and monumental sculptures. Among the artists exhibited for the first time in Rennes are Jean-Michel Basquiat, as well as works by Annie Leibovitz and Thomas Schütte.
After « Debout ! » (2018), « Au-delà de la couleur » (2021) and « Forever Sixties » (2023) at the Couvent des Jacobins, the City of Rennes and Rennes Métropole are renewing their collaboration with the Pinault Collection for a major exhibition bringing together several works from the world's largest contemporary art collection, just 5 minutes from the Oniris gallery.
Throughout the summer of 2025, Oniris is devoting a solo exhibition to Philippe Cognée on the same theme of portraiture and self-portraiture, as part of the “Exporama” program of summer exhibitions in Rennes.
In conjunction with “Les Yeux dans les yeux”, Pinault Collection is lending an exceptional group of works by Claire Tabouret to the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, which is simultaneously dedicating an exhibition to the artist.
