From October 17 to 24, 2026, the Oniris Gallery is participating in A Week in the Gallery, the new fall event organized by the Professional Committee of Art Galleries (CPGA).
For this first edition, 164 galleries in Paris, the Île-de-France region, and across France will open their doors for eight days. On the program: 184 exhibitions and more than 100 events, free and open to the public.
A new event to discover galleries
With “Une Semaine en Galerie,” the CPGA is introducing a new format that extends and revitalizes the “Starting Sunday” event, which will run through 2025.
For one week, participating galleries invite the public to explore their exhibitions and freely create their own artistic itinerary. Solo and group exhibitions, meet-and-greets with artists, book signings, lectures, and guided tours punctuate this week dedicated to contemporary art.
An opportunity to rediscover the essential role of galleries: supporting artists, promoting their work, and fostering encounters between artworks, professionals, collectors, and the general public.
In Rennes, the Oniris Gallery presents Soo Kyoung Lee
In Rennes, the Oniris Gallery is participating in this new edition with a solo exhibition by the Franco-Korean artist Soo Kyoung Lee, titled 일신우일신 (Renewing Oneself Again).
Founded in Rennes, Oniris has been supporting artists engaged in various forms of contemporary creation for nearly four decades. Its programming fosters a dialogue between painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and contemporary practices, bringing together established artists and newer generations.
“A Week in the Gallery” is thus an opportunity not only to discover Soo Kyoung Lee’s exhibition but also to take the time to observe the œ works, discuss contemporary art, and gain a better understanding of the role a gallery plays in an artist’s career.
From Starting Sunday to A Week in the Gallery
“Une Semaine en Galerie” succeeds “Starting Sunday”, which in 2025 brought together 140 galleries, featuring 108 solo exhibitions, 32 group exhibitions, and nearly 90 events.
In 2026, the event changed its name and was extended to eight days. This new format gives the public more time to explore the various artistic offerings and create their own itinerary, whether in Paris, the Île-de-France region, or elsewhere in France.
Stepping into a gallery
An art gallery is, above all, a place to encounter creativity. Stepping through its doors means discovering an exhibition, but also entering the artists’ world, understanding their creative processes, and engaging in conversation about the works.
From October 17 to 24, 2026, “Une Semaine en Galerie” invites art lovers, collectors, professionals, and the curious to visit participating galleries for free.
