Small formats 2025-2026: and works on paper by the artists represented by the gallery
As it does every end of year, Oniris presents a new edition of its traditional Small Formats exhibition. The 2025 edition has a special significance: it focuses on the Atelier Fanal in Basel, which is gradually winding down its activities after several decades of commitment to contemporary printmaking.
Since its founding, Atelier Fanal has supported numerous artists involved in concrete art and various forms of geometric abstraction, offering their research a rare technical rigor and expertise that has become a benchmark. The prints produced in Basel—rigorous, luminous, with great precision of line and color—have helped to spread these artistic approaches far beyond the circle of insiders.
Through a selection of small formats produced over the years, the exhibition pays tribute to this unique publisher, who was both loyal to artists and a tireless explorer of the possibilities of printing.
With this special edition, the Oniris gallery, which collaborated with Atelier Fanal for several decades, invites the public to rediscover its artistic heritage: a world of geometric shapes and colors condensed into precise, sensitive, and timeless works.
The fourth exhibition room presents a few artists whose work does not belong to the abstract geometric universe of Atelier Fanal.
As in previous years, Oniris also offers an online store called “Mini Store", with a selection of works specifically chosen for remote sales. This selection, separate from the exhibition on display in the gallery, allows visitors to discover other available works that could be part of the “Petits Formats” exhibition.
SMALL FORMATS 2025-2026 exhibition, to be discovered in Rennes from Wednesday, December 10, 2025, to Saturday, January 24, 2026.
